Structural Behaviour of Voided Flat Slab With Various Void Ratios Under Vertical Loading

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering, 2023
In recent modern buildings, voided slabs have been implemented because of the high reduction of their weight up to 35 %. Also, CO2 emission takes place which was developed from mass concrete.

Band gap engineering in simultaneous phononic and photonic crystal slabs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss the simultaneous existence of phononic and photonic band gaps in two types of phononic crystals slabs, namely periodic arrays of nanoholes in a Si membrane and of Si nanodots on a SiO2 membrane. In the former geometry, we investigate in detail

X‐Functionality–Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution in 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a water‐based synthesis of 2D 4‐X‐PEA2SnI4 perovskite microcrystals with prominent photocatalytic (PC) activity for H2 production. The synergy between organic functionalization and HI‐derived iodide scavenges holes suppress octahedral distortion, and favor electron accumulation, enabling a PC H2 evolution ∼20 µmol·g−1 and long‐term stability ...

Effects of Er:YAG Laser on Mineral Content of Sound Dentin in Primary Teeth

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the mineral content of sound dentin in primary teeth prepared using an Er:YAG laser at two different power settings. Thirty-six primary second molars were used in this study.

Long–term behavior of composite steel plate-concrete slabs incorporating waste plastic fibers

open access: yesMagazine of Civil Engineering, 2022
This research has been conducted to investigate the effect of adding waste plastic fibers (WPF) in concrete on behavior of composites steel plate-concrete slabs. The WPF were produced by cutting plastic bottles used to preserve carbonated beverages. Both

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

CRACK STRENGTH OF HOLLOW CORE SLABS: EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH

open access: yesВестник СибАДИ, 2019
Introduction. The paper presents the results of research that allow assessing the degree of influence of pre-organized cracks on the character crack formation and on the process of the hollow-core slabs’ deformation under short-term load action.Materials

Temperature gradient driven short wavelength modes in sheared slab plasmas

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2003
The temperature gradient (ηi and ηe) driven instability in the short wavelength regime, |kyρi|>1, is studied in a sheared slab. An analytical analysis is performed first to clarify the physics mechanisms for the modes in a shearless slab. The correlation between the growth rate and the real frequency of the modes is discussed in detail.
