Al3+/Ta5+ Co‐Doping Promotes Homogeneous Li+ Transport Enabling High Performance Ni‐Rich Layered Oxide Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Al3+/Ta5+ co‐doping refines the primary particles of LiNiO2, reduces Li/Ni antisite disorder, and expands the c‐axis lattice parameter, thereby enabling faster and more homogeneous Li+ transport. Such rapid and homogeneous Li+ transport suppresses high‐voltage phase transitions and microcrack formation, ultimately improving the rate capability and long‐

Understanding the Compressive Ring in Reinforced Concrete Slabs in Fire [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Fire induced geometrical changes produce large deflections in floor slabs and even if there is significant loss of strength, the change of shape of the slab allows stability to be maintained by the slab acting as a tensile membrane.

Photoinduced Interfacial Electronic Modulation in Fe2O3‐BiVO4 Heterostructures for Enhanced Photo‐Assisted Zn‐Air Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light irradiation activates the Fe2O3‐BiVO4 heterostructure, enabling efficient solar‐electrochemical coupling in zinc‐air batteries. The built‐in electric field drives directional charge separation, guiding photoelectrons toward oxygen reduction sites and accumulating holes for oxygen evolution, thereby reducing polarization and enhancing discharge ...

Limits to the Hall Effect and Other Nonreciprocal Effects in Three‐Dimensional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Comprehensive and fundamental bounds on nonreciprocal effects in three‐dimensional metamaterials are derived. They reveal that the effective Hall mobility cannot exceed the largest constituent mobility, that, under certain conditions, the Verdet constant cannot be enhanced, and that, for constituents with Hall coefficients of the same sign, the largest

Calculation Of Reinforced Concrete Slabs On Yielding Supports Under Short-term Dynamic Loading [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
Buildings and structures used for industrial and civil purposes are exposed to dynamic impacts of emergency nature. To protection of structures one should improve methods for dynamic analysis of structures and also elaborate effective design solutions ...

n‐Type Polymer Radio Frequency Rectifiers Operating at 18.5 GHz

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining an n‐doped polymer semiconductor with wafer‐scale asymmetric planar electrodes featuring work function‐engineered contacts yields radio‐frequency diodes and rectifying circuits operating at up to 18.5 GHz. The devices combine scalable manufacturing with an operating frequency previously unattainable by large‐area organic electronics ...

Novel method for detection of void defects under track slabs using air-coupled ultrasonic sensors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2020
Void defects under track slabs are the main danger affecting the safe operation of high-speed railways. In the short high-speed railway maintenance periods, China’s high-speed railway line maintenance operations must quickly and dynamically determine ...

Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

Vibration transmission characteristic analysis of the metro turnout area by constant-Q nonstationary Gabor transform

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2020
The problem of vibration in turnout zones caused by passing trains has become increasingly serious due to the complexity of the structure and force of metro turnouts.

Optimum energy absorption of a short-pulse laser in a doped dielectric slab [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2002
A model is used to calculate energy absorption efficiency when a short-pulse laser impinges on a dielectric slab doped with an impurity for which the electrons have a resonant line at the laser wavelength. The amount of the energy resonant absorption is due to the overlapping between laser spectrum and resonance spectrum.
