Risk factors which predispose first-time traumatic anterior shoulder dislocations to recurrent instability in adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Recurrent instability following a first-time anterior traumatic shoulder dislocation may exceed 26%.

Analysis of Patient-Dependent and Trauma-Dependent Risk Factors for Persistent Brachial Plexus Injury after Shoulder Dislocation

open access: yesBioMed Research International, 2018
Brachial plexus injuries (BPIs) caused by shoulder dislocation usually have a transient character and tend to resolve spontaneously. However, in some patients the symptoms can persist and require operative intervention.

Defect Analysis of the β– to γ–Ga2O3 Phase Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of defects at all the relevant stages of the β$\beta$‐ to γ$\gamma$‐Ga2O3 polymorph transition is investigated using a multi method approach. The positron annihilation spectroscopy based results show that the defect density decreases after the transition, and that changes in defect configuration within the γ phase occur with increasing ...

Bilateral Inferior Shoulder Dislocation [PDF]

open access: yesWestern Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2015
A 42-year-old male with a history of multiple shoulder dislocations presented to the emergency department via emergency medical services with both arms locked above his head, stating that he had been jumped at a bar and had since been unable to move his arms.

Enhanced Switching Performance in Single‐Crystalline PbTiO3 Ferroelectric Memristors for Replicating Synaptic Plasticity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrated single‐crystalline PbTiO3‐based memristors with atomically sharp interfaces, well‐ordered lattices, and minimal lattice mismatch. The devices exhibited an ON/OFF ratio exceeding 105, high stability, and rich resistance‐state modulation.

Bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Natural Science, Biology and Medicine, 2013
Shoulder dislocations are the most common major joint dislocations encountered in the emergency departments. Bilateral shoulder dislocations are rare and of these, bilateral posterior shoulder dislocations are more prevalent than bilateral anterior shoulder dislocations. Bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation is very rare. We present a case of 24-year-

Toughening β‐Ga2O3 via Mechanically Seeded Dislocations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
β‐Ga2O3 is promising for next‐generation semiconductors but its brittleness limits flexible and high‐precision applications. Here, mechanically seeded dislocations introduced by surface deformation improved damage tolerance in (001) β‐Ga2O3. Nanoindentation and characterization show dislocations suppress cleavage cracks by enabling stable plastic ...

Accuracy of point-of-care ultrasound using low frequency curvilinear transducer in the diagnosis of shoulder dislocation and confirmation of appropriate reduction

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2017
Background: Ultrasound (US) is an effective modality in the evaluation of shoulder dislocation and reduction. In most studies, high frequency US probes have been used.

Simultaneous bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation as a result of minimal trauma

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2020
Simultaneous bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation is rare, it often occurs after high energy trauma, we report a case of a 43-years-old male presented with bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation when he tries to stand up from the floor, shoulders in ...
