TECHNIC FOR ARTHROPLASTY OF THE SHOULDER-JOINT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1914
With our limited access to the literature we have been unable to find any satisfactory description for an arthroplasty of the shoulder-joint. Having a case for operation, we began the work on the cadaver and developed the following technic, which we believe is nearest anatomically correct of anything we have been able to find.

LONG-TERM RESULTS OF ARTHROSCOPIC TREATMENT FOR INSTABILITY AT RECURRENT SHOULDER JOINT, CAUSES OF FAILURE

open access: yesTravmatologiâ i Ortopediâ Rossii, 2011
The authors analyse the results of the performance of arthroscopy stitch on the injured capsule with the use of anchor on 46 patients with anterior recurring instability of the shoulder joint within a period of time from 6 months to 4 years.

A Bidirectional Fabric-based Pneumatic Actuator for the Infant Shoulder: Design and Comparative Kinematic Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
This paper presents the design and assessment of a fabric-based soft pneumatic actuator with low pressurization requirements for actuation making it suitable for upper extremity assistive devices for infants. The goal is to support shoulder abduction and adduction without prohibiting motion in other planes or obstructing elbow joint motion.

Assessment of key parameters on the performance of the deltoid muscle in reverse shoulder arthroplasty – a modeling and simulation based study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA), in which anatomic concavities of glenohumeral (GH) joint are inverted, is a popular treatment of arthritic shoulders with deficient rotator cuff.

Using an Electronic Goniometer to Assess the Influence of Single-Application Kinesiology Taping on Unstable Shoulder Proprioception and Function

open access: yesSensors
Background: Glenohumeral joint instability is associated with a proprioception deficit. Joint position sense can be improved through targeted exercises and kinesiology taping (KT). While previous studies have examined the effects of KT on proprioception,

Constructing Ion‐Bridging Structure with Controlled Cracks in Plasticized PVC with Graphene for Highly Sensitive Strain Sensor with a Wide Strain Range

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A highly stretchable strain sensor is presented, that leverages controlled crack formation and ion bridging in a polyvinyl chloride gel/graphene to achieve exceptional sensitivity (gauge factor up to 1.5 × 10⁶) and mechanical stability. By optimizing plasticizer properties, the conductive pathways are finely tuned, enabling robust, real‐time monitoring
