Molecular biology of frozen shoulder-induced limitation of shoulder joint movements

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2017
Frozen shoulder is a chronic condition characterized by pain in the shoulder and restriction of movements in all directions. Some patients are left with long-term limitation of shoulder joint activity with various severities, which results in reduced ...

Reduced telomere length is associated with fibrotic joint disease suggesting that impaired telomere repair contributes to joint fibrosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
OBJECTIVE: Joint fibrosis affects many synovial joints (including hip, knee and shoulder) causing stiffness and pain. The mechanism of joint fibrosis remains unknown, although genetic factors may contribute.

A Canine Musculoskeletal Robot for Investigating Biomechanical Functions During Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this study, a dog limb musculoskeletal robot was developed using thin McKibben artificial muscles to investigate the effects of the dog's musculoskeletal structure on walking. Walking experiments were conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments, suggesting that the flexible structure of the dog's shoulders contributes to an increase in stroke ...

Pecularities of shoulder joint arthroplasty after war injuries

open access: yesBolʹ, Sustavy, Pozvonočnik
Background. Shoulder arthroplasty in patients after combat injuries is a complex and multicomponent problem. This study aimed to analyze our first experience of treating patients with gunshot and blast injuries with shoulder arthroplasty.

Common surgical procedures about the shoulder joint

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Physiotherapy, 1982
Details of surgery to the shoulder joint, relating to the rotator cuff and acromioclavicular joint, repair of recurrent dislocation of the shoulder joint and stabilisation of a destroyed or functionless joint, are described.

TRIM56 Aggravates Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury via Inhibiting KLF4‐Activated Ferroptosis Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM56 exacerbates neuronal ferroptosis and brain damage by mediating K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation of KLF4, leading to suppression of the xCT/GSH/GPX4 axis. Targeting TRIM56 alleviates cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury in vivo and in vitro, highlighting its therapeutic potential.

Nanogel Integrated Zwitterionic Injectable Hydrogel with Sequential Drug‐Releasing Capability for the Programmable Repair of Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel drug‐loaded D/P‐g‐PSB nanogel‐incorporated hydrogel by the electrostatic attraction‐driven self‐assembling process. Sequential drug releasing property (melatonin is released first by physical diffusion, and then ibuprofen is released as the charge shielding effect and hydrogel degradation). This ion‐sensitive hydrogel platform with sequentially
