MHD stagnation‐point flow towards a shrinking sheet

International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow, 2011
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to theoretically investigate the steady two‐dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer flow over a shrinking sheet. The effects of stretching and shrinking parameter as well as magnetic field parameter near the stagnation point are studied.Design/methodology/approachA similarity transformation is used to ...

Mixed convection stagnation flow towards a vertical shrinking sheet

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2014
Abstract The steady mixed convection stagnation-point boundary layer flow past a vertical stretching/shrinking sheet in a viscous fluid is numerically investigated. The numerical solutions are obtained by solving the similarity equations which are derived via the similarity transformation technique in order to reduce the nonlinear partial ...

MHD stagnation point flow over a stretching/shrinking sheet

2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC), 2015
The problem of unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stagnation point flow over a stretching/shrinking sheet is studied in this paper. By using proper variables, the partial differential equations are transformed into an ordinary (similarity) differential equation. This equation along with the corresponding boundary conditions are solved numerically using

Slip Magnetohydrodynamic Viscous Flow over a Permeable Shrinking Sheet

Chinese Physics Letters, 2010
The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow under slip conditions over a shrinking sheet is solved analytically. The solution is given in a closed form equation and is an exact solution of the full governing Navier-Stokes equations. Interesting solution behavior is observed with multiple solution branches for certain parameter domain.

Nonlinear Flow of Third-Grade Fluid between Stretching-Shrinking Sheets

Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2016
AbstractThe problem of axisymmetric magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of third-grade fluid between the stretching-shrinking sheets has been modeled. Suitable transformations are considered to reduce the partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations.

Unsteady stagnation flow and heat transfer towards a shrinking sheet

International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, 2010
Abstract The unsteady stagnation flow towards a shrinking sheet is investigated. With assumptions that the sheet is shrunk impulsively from rest, and simultaneously the surface temperature is suddenly increased from that of surrounding fluid, the boundary layer equations are transformed to a set of nonlinear partial differential equations by means of

Nanofluid flow over a shrinking sheet with surface slip

Microfluidics and Nanofluidics, 2013
In the present study, the effects of partial slip on mixed convection stagnation point flow and heat transfer of nanofluid impinging normally toward a shrinking sheet are investigated numerically. In particular, focus is on Cu–water and Al2O3–water nanofluids.
