Now-a-days use of nonlinear loads in industries has been increased tremendously which are the source of harmonic currents to be injected in supply system. These harmonics creates power quality issue. The most popular solution to eliminate these harmonics is Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) because SAPF can eliminate harmonics easily, overcome voltage ...

Hardware in the loop simulation of Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) utilizing RTDS and dSPACE
2017 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference (COBEP), 2017This paper deals with the integration of a Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) to the electric power grid and a non-linear load (typically rectifier). The intention is testing the control system by Hardware In the Loop (HIL) simulation under conditions which are closer to the SAPF and the electric power grid reality.

Abstract In this article, a transformer-less 3P3W SAPF (three-phase three-wire shunt active power filter) integrated into the distributed energy network which embeds line-interactive UPS and bi-directional chopper-fed energy storage equipment. The proposed system operates in two operating modes of line-interactive UPS (uninterruptible power supply ...

The issues related to power quality are becoming stronger; as the sensitive equipment plays a leading role in the power industry, it will pollute the system and increase the cost due to inbuilt compensation and deficiency of implemented regulations. Now, the cost and efficiency of the system are considered nearly at the identical level.
