Polaronic effects in electron shuttling [PDF]
A shuttle-like mechanism of electron transport through a single level vibrating quantum dot is considered in the regime of strong electromechanical coupling. It is shown that the increment of shuttle instability is a nonmonotonic function of the driving voltage.

Catalytic Effects in Lithium-Sulfur Batteries: Promoted Sulfur Transformation and Reduced Shuttle Effect. [PDF]
AbstractLithium–sulfur (Li–S) battery has emerged as one of the most promising next‐generation energy‐storage systems. However, the shuttle effect greatly reduces the battery cycle life and sulfur utilization, which is great deterrent to its practical use. This paper reviews the tremendous efforts that are made to find a remedy for this problem, mostly

Bax shuttling after neonatal hypoxia–ischemia: Hyperoxia effects [PDF]
AbstractPerinatal hypoxia–ischemia (HI) occurs in 0.2%–0.4% of all live births, with 100% O2 resuscitation (HHI) remaining a standard clinical treatment. HI produces a broad spectrum of neuronal death phenotypes ranging from a more noninflammatory apoptotic death to a more inflammatory necrotic cell death that may be responsible for the broad spectrum ...

Blood lead levels, pulmonary function and agility in Polish schoolchildren
Background: Reduced vital capacity (VC) and forced vital capacity (FVC) are associated with lead (Pb) exposure. Aim: The objective of this study is to analyse the effects of Pb on FVC and the shuttle run performance.

Boron Nitride Nanotube-Based Separator for High-Performance Lithium-Sulfur Batteries
To prevent global warming, ESS development is in progress along with the development of electric vehicles and renewable energy. However, the state-of-the-art technology, i.e., lithium-ion batteries, has reached its limitation, and thus the need for high ...
