Engine Variables Affecting the SI Engine Knock
Volume 2: Large-Bore Engines, Fuel Effects, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, Engine Performance and Simulation, 2001Abstract To program the automatic performance control loops of the modern cars at the design stage, numerical result of engine variables effecting knock intensity is the most important tool. Although general aspects of the effect of engine operating conditions on knock have been studied in previous investigations, precise numerical ...

Liquid Gasoline Behavior in the Engine Cylinder of a SI Engine
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1994<div class="htmlview paragraph">The liquid fuel entry into the cylinder and its subsequent behavior through the combustion cycle were observed by a high speed CCD camera in a transparent engine. The videos were taken with the engine firing under cold conditions in a simulated start-up process, at 1,000 RPM and intake manifold pressure of 0.5 bar.

Engine Capability Prediction for SI Engine Fueled With Syngas
Volume 1: Large Bore Engines; Fuels; Advanced Combustion, 2015There are increasing interests in converting solid waste or lignocellulosic biomass into gaseous fuels and using reciprocating internal combustion engine to generate electricity. A widely used technique is gasification. Gasification is a process where the solid fuel and air are introduced to a partial oxidation environment, and generate combustible ...

Differences in Efficiency between SI Engine and Diesel Engine
MTZ worldwide, 2009For discussing the differences in efficiency between a SI engine and a diesel engine in the vehicle a detailed split of loss calculation is used normally as method. The comparison of engine concepts at identical operating points gives only limited information.

SI Units in Geotechnical Engineering
Geotechnical Testing Journal, 1980Abstract A brief description is presented of the International System of Units (SI) as it might be applied to geotechnical engineering. Base as well as derived SI units that are of interest to geotechnical engineers are described in detail, and conversion factors for units in common usage are given. A few examples of conversions are also
