Performance and Emissions of an Ammonia-Fueled SI Engine with Hydrogen Enrichment

open access: yesSAE technical paper series, 2019
While the optimization of the internal combustion engine (ICE) remains a very important topic, alternative fuels are also expected to play a significant role in the reduction of CO 2 emissions.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

CFD Modelling of Flame Stretch in SI Engines

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2015
AbstractThe flame stretch is a phenomenon that affects the combustion initial stage in premixed charge Spark-Ignition (SI) engines with consequences on the laminar burning velocity, so its correct description is fundamental to predict the further turbulent flame development. In the context of a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) investigation, two ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Idle Operation with Low Intake Valve Lift in a Port Fuel Injected Engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Reducing fuel consumption is a prime objective in the automotive industry in order to meet regulatory and customer demands. Variable valve actuation offers many opportunities for improving the spark ignition engine’s performance in areas such as fuel ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Komparasi Paduan Ethanol dan Dietyl Ether (DEE) pada Gasoline Terhadap Performa Spark Ignition (SI) Engine

open access: yesInfotekmesin: Media Komunikasi Ilmiah Politeknik Cilacap
The limited availability of fossil fuels and the growing demand for energy have led to a global energy crisis. Ethanol and DEE can be used as alternative energy to replace fossil fuels.

Variation of Engine Performance and Emissions using Ethanol Blends

open access: yes, 2010
The limited fossil fuel resources along with the increased public concerns about pollution levels have increased the need for alternative fuels for use in internal combustion engines.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
