Chromatofocusing of sialoglycoproteins

Journal of Chromatography A, 1983
Sialoglycoproteins of different sialic acid contents have been separated from each other by chromatofocusing on the ion exchanger PBE 94 using gradients of pH 4.00 down to pH 1.00. The technique is much faster than isoelectric focusing, apparently does not result in desialylation of the sialoglycoproteins and can handle with ease 10 ng to 50 mg ...

Heterogeneity of human red cell membrane sialoglycoproteins

Blut, 1976
Discontinuous sodium dodecysulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (disc SDS-PAGE) followed by periodic acid/Schiff staining reveals the presence of six sialoglycoprotein bands in human red cell membranes or glycoprotein preparations therefrom. In agreement with previous investigations it is shown that PAS-1 and PAS-2 (mol.

Sialoglycoprotein and carbohydrate complexes in chromium toxicity

Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2003
Chromium(VI) compounds are amongst the most widely encountered industrial carcinogens and are of increasing concern with respect to environmental exposure. Sialoglycoproteins and carbohydrates play a crucial role in stabilizing oxoCr(V) intermediates, which are produced by extracellular and intracellular reduction of chromium(VI).
