Complementary geophysical, geomorphometric and pedological approaches for characterizing shallow and deep subsurface materials in a colluvial‐alluvial plain in Atlantic rainforest

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 50, Issue 15, December 2025.
This study combines GPR, 2D ERT and UAV‐derived terrain models to characterize sediment variability in a colluvial‐alluvial plain. GPR identified sandy lenses and clay‐rich layers, while ERT revealed deeper conductive and resistive zones, including a gneissic basement.

Spanish Intragastric Balloon Consensus Statement (SIBC): practical guidelines based on experience of over 20,000 cases.

open access: yesRevista Española de Enfermedades Digestivas, 2022
intragastric balloons (IGBs) are a minimally invasive, increasingly popular option for obesity treatment. However, there is only one worldwide guideline standardizing the technical aspects of the procedure (BIBC, SOARD 2018).to construct a practical guideline for IGB usage by reproducing and expanding the BIBC survey among the Spanish Bariatric ...

Modulational Instability and Dynamical Growth Blockade in the Nonlinear Hatano–Nelson Model

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2025.
The nonlinear Hatano–Nelson model under periodic boundary conditions is investigated, revealing a novel growth blockade phenomenon triggered by the modulational instability of nonlinear plane waves. This effect, characterized by the abrupt halt of norm growth, arises from self‐induced disorder, marking a departure from the convective motion observed in

Caracterização e classificação de solos desenvolvidos de arenitos da formação Aquidauana-MS Characterization and classification of soils developed from sandstone of the Aquidauana formation

The GrassSyn dataset: Soil organic carbon stocks in Brazilian grassy ecosystems

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 54, Issue 2, Page 335-348, March/April 2025.
Abstract Although ecosystem management and restoration are known to enhance carbon storage, limited knowledge of ecosystem‐specific soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks and processes hinders the development of climate‐ready, biodiversity‐focused policies. Baseline SOC stocks data for specific ecosystems is essential.

A 3‐D FDTD Methodology for Modeling the Propagation of VLF Whistler Mode PLHR Waves Through the Ionosphere

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 130, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract The finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) method was previously applied to high‐frequency electromagnetic wave propagation through 250 km of the F region of the ionosphere. That modeling approach was limited to electromagnetic wave propagation above the critical frequency of the ionospheric plasma, and it did not include the lower ionosphere ...

A High‐Order Impedance Boundary Condition Enhanced Integral Equation Solver for Scattering From the Coated Bodies of Revolution

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
A novel high‐order impedance boundary condition (HOIBC)‐enhanced integral equation solver is proposed for the analysis of electromagnetic scattering from bodies of revolution (BoR) with low‐index coatings. By leveraging BoR symmetry, the proposed BoR‐HOIBC method reduces unknowns, enhancing computational efficiency compared to traditional JMCFIE.

COLLOCATED SIBC-FDTD METHOD FOR COATED CONDUCTORS AT OBLIQUE INCIDENCE

open access: yesProgress In Electromagnetics Research M, 2013
A collocated surface impedance boundary condition (SIBC) { flnite difierence time domain (FDTD) method is developed for conductors coated with lossy dielectric coatings at oblique incidence. The method is based on the collocated electric and magnetic fleld components on the planar interface between two media, and rational approximation for tangent ...
