Creep Investigation of SiCf-SiBC Composites

Scripta Materialia, 2005
The concept of ceramic matrix composites was proposed in the eighties to be used in the aeronautical and space domains. Classical SiCf-SiC have changed into complex materials, such as SiCf-SiBC investigated in this work: that composite is reinforced with SiC Hi-Nicalon fibers and has a multi-layer and self-sealing matrix.

Fabrication of Si3N4–SiBC composite ceramic and its excellent electromagnetic properties

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2012
Abstract To obtain better electromagnetic wave absorbing property, it is vitally necessary to develop novel ceramics with not only high dielectric loss but also low dielectric constant. Si3N4–SiBC, a composite ceramic with such dielectric properties, was fabricated by infiltrating SiBC into porous Si3N4 ceramic via low pressure chemical vapor ...

Damage Creep Mechanisms of SiCf-SiBC Composites

2008
In the 1373-1523K domain, the creep behavior of SiC f -SiBC batches tested under argon and 120 MPa has been investigated. The creep deformation of these composite is governed by a damage creep mechanism: first the creation of matrix microcracking until its saturation, then an opening of the microcracks in the transverse tows.

Extraction of circuit parameters from PCB by FDTD and SIBC

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2009
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the extraction of scattering parameters (SPs) from simple structures on a printed circuit board (PCB) by the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method with the aid of a surface impedance boundary condition (SIBC ...

Structure, mechanical properties and oxidation resistance of MoSi2, MoSiB and MoSiB/SiBC coatings

Izvestiya Vuzov. Poroshkovaya Metallurgiya i Funktsional’nye Pokrytiya (Universitiesʹ Proceedings. Powder Metallurgy аnd Functional Coatings), 2018
Magnetron sputtering was used to obtain single-layer MoSi2, MoSiB and multilayer MoSiB/SiBC coatings. Coating structures were studied using X-ray phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy and glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy. Mechanical properties of the coatings were determined by nanoindentation.
