Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact
An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

THE EARLY PALEOZOIC BASITE MAGMATISM IN THE NORTHEASTERN SIBERIAN CRATON
The Early Cambrian tectonomagmatic activation is manifested in the northeastern passive margin of the Siberian Craton within the area of the Olenek uplift, as well as in the Kharaulakh segment of the Verkhoyansk fold‐ thrust belt that was thrusted onto ...

Coupled U‐Pb and trace‐element analyses of accessory phases in crustal xenoliths from the Late Devonian Udachnaya kimberlite (Siberian craton, Russia) are used to constrain Moho temperature and crustal heat production at the time of kimberlite eruption ...

Diamondiferous lamproites of Ingashi field, Siberian craton
Abstract Ingashi lamproite dykes are the only known primary sources of diamond in the Irkutsk district (Russia) and the only non-kimberlitic one in the Siberian craton. The Ingashi lamproite field is situated in the Urik-Iya graben within the Prisayan uplift of the Siberian craton.

Localized and Transient Oxygenation of Shallow Oceans of Southwestern Laurentia at the Ediacaran-Cambrian Boundary. [PDF]
ABSTRACT The Ediacaran–Cambrian boundary, which precedes one of the most significant biotic diversification events in Earth's history, is associated with a global negative carbon isotope excursion termed the BAsal Cambrian carbon isotope Excursion (BACE).

The pressure-temperature (PT) conditions and position of different groups of eclogites in the sub-cratonic lithospheric mantle (SCLM) worldwide were established using clinopyroxene Jd-Di and garnet thermobarometry. Beneath Siberia, Fe-eclogites found within the 3.0–4.0 GPa formed in Early Archean times.

Archaean and Proterozoic diamond growth from contrasting styles of large-scale magmatism [PDF]
Precise dating of diamond growth is required to understand the interior workings of the early Earth and the deep carbon cycle. Here we report Sm-Nd isotope data from 26 individual garnet inclusions from 26 harzburgitic diamonds from Venetia, South Africa.
