Various branching pattern of aortic arch in the Siberian roe deer (543.7)

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2014
This study examined the branching pattern of the aortic arch and its major branches in Siberian roe deer ( Capreolus pygargus ) and compared its branching patterns with those of other ruminants. Silicone casts were taken from 16 carcasses (male 7, female 9) with body weights ranging from 7.70~

Changes of Potential Suitable Areas for Lynx Under Climate Change in Mohe Area, Daxing'anling Mountains, China 气候变化下中国大兴安岭漠河地区猞猁潜在适宜区的变化

open access: yesWildlife Letters, EarlyView.
Climate change drives shifts in suitable habitats for Eurasian lynx and its prey (hare, roe deer) in Mohe, Daxing'anling Mountains. Under RCP scenarios, moderate warming (RCP4.5) promotes substantial habitat expansion, while high‐emission conditions (RCP8.5) lead to strong expansion in the 2050s but slower gains and partial contraction by the 2070s ...

Fecal DNA metabarcoding and microhabitat analysis reveal summer resource differentiation between sympatric forest musk deer and Siberian roe deer

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation
How sympatric species with similar ecological requirements partition resources to reduce competition is a key question in community ecology. We tested whether forest musk deer ( Moschus berezovskii ) and Siberian roe deer ( Capreolus pygargus ) exhibit ...

Can Wapiti (Cervus elaphus) Browsing Stimulate the Chemical Defense of Taxus cuspidata—A Case of Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We study that browsing by wapiti reduces the growth of saplings, and it develop chemical defenses to prevent themselves browsed again. These results reduce our concern about wapiti browse T. cuspidate saplings, and provide basic data for the study of the interaction between them, and also provide theoretical basis for the population restoration and ...

Advancing wildlife image analysis: A Graph Attention Contrastive Learning approach for region‐specific mammal classification

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 4, October–December 2026.
The GACL model combines graph attention and parallel contrastive learning to classify region‐specific mammals from camera‐trap images. Trained on a new large‐scale Korean Wildlife Dataset, it achieves 96.8% accuracy across four classes (wild boar, goral, deer, and other) and outperforms global general‐purpose models at recognizing endemic species.
