Pattern formation and spatial correlation induced by the noise in two competing species [PDF]
We analyze the spatio-temporal patterns of two competing species in the presence of two white noise sources: an additive noise acting on the interaction parameter and a multiplicative noise which affects directly the dynamics of the species densities. We

Some electromagnetic properties of the nucleon from Relativistic Chiral Effective Field Theory
Considering the magnetic moment and polarizabilities of the nucleon we emphasize the need for relativistic chiral EFT calculations. Our relativistic calculations are done via the forward-Compton-scattering sum rules, thus ensuring the correct analytic ...

From Wild West to the Godfather: Enforcement Market Structure [PDF]
Weak states enable private enforcement but it does not always fade away in the presence of strong states. We develop a general equilibrium model of the market organization of enforcers (self-enforcers, competitive specialized enforcers or monopoly) who ...

In this paper we present an unusual case of cocoons produced by larvae of Tenebrionid Alphasida (Glabrasida) puncticollis (Solier, 1836), which has been observed on the islet of Lampione (Sicilian Channel). Pupal cocoons have never been recorded for species belonging to this genus, and their occurrence results rarely documented within the family ...

Planktonic communities in an anchovy spawning area of the Sicilian Channel: structure and diversity.
The structure and diversity of the planktonic populations were studied in the Strait of Sicily, an area of spawning of Engraulis encrasicolus (Clupeiformes), a pelagic species of commercial interest. In this oligotrophic area the planktonic communities showed different spatial distribution related to the hydrological pattern.
