Measurement of exceptional motion in VR video contents for VR sickness assessment using deep convolutional autoencoder [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
This paper proposes a new objective metric of exceptional motion in VR video contents for VR sickness assessment. In VR environment, VR sickness can be caused by several factors which are mismatched motion, field of view, motion parallax, viewing angle, etc.

Integrated Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Abrocitinib in Adolescents With Moderate‐to‐Severe Atopic Dermatitis

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Data were included from adolescents with moderate‐to‐severe AD treated with the JAK1 inhibitor abrocitinib (200 mg/100 mg) across JADE clinical trials. Improvements in skin clearance (per EASI‐75) and itch (per PP‐NRS4) were maintained for up to 112 weeks with both abrocitinib doses.

A Digital Human Model for Symptom Progression of Vestibular Motion Sickness based on Subjective Vertical Conflict Theory [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Factors in Design, Engineering, and Computing. AHFE (2024) International Conference. AHFE Open Access, vol 159
Digital human models of motion sickness have been actively developed, among which models based on subjective vertical conflict (SVC) theory are the most actively studied. These models facilitate the prediction of motion sickness in various scenarios such as riding in a car.

Single lead atrial vs. dual chamber pacing in sick sinus syndrome: extended register-based follow-up in the DANPACE trial

open access: yesEuropace, 2017
Aims The DANPACE trial randomized patients with sick sinus syndrome (SSS) to single lead atrial (AAIR) or dual chamber (DDDR) pacemaker (PM). After 5 years follow-up, no difference in overall survival, stroke or heart failure (HF) was observed, whereas ...

Chinese Position Paper on Biologic Therapy for Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Emerging biologics that selectively target key cytokines present a promising therapeutic alternative for patients suffering from severe, uncontrollable chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Despite the limited availability of registered biologics for CRSwNP treatment in China, the country is experiencing rapid development in this ...

Short-term heart rate variability in dogs with sick sinus syndrome or chronic mitral valve disease as compared to healthy controls.

open access: yesPolish journal of veterinary sciences, 2017
Heart rate variability is an established risk factor for mortality in both healthy dogs and animals with heart failure. The aim of this study was to compare short-term heart rate variability (ST-HRV) parameters from 60-min electrocardiograms in dogs with

Effects of coronavirus severity and vaccination numbers on postsurgical mortality for elective surgical procedures in the VA population

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study investigated whether previous COVID severity and vaccination affected subsequent elective postsurgical mortality and readmission rates at 30, 90 and 365 days. Methods 21 855 veterans were divided into two cohorts, a no‐COVID (NC) cohort of 19 338 patients and a previous COVID cohort of 2547 patients.

Approach to the Management of Gastrointestinal Manifestations in Patients With Phaeochromocytoma and Paraganglioma

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Managing gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with phaeochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL) is challenging due to the risk of catecholaminergic crisis with many commonly prescribed medications, especially in functional tumours.

Sick sinus syndrome: decompensation prevention

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2004
In 83 patients with sick sinus syndrome and without severe impairment of central/systemic hemodynamics (compensated SSS), decompensation prevention by long-tem atenolol therapy was investigated. Follow-up lasted for 6-24 months, mean atenolol dose was 26,
