On the Performance of Convolutional Neural Networks for Side-Channel Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we ask a question whether convolutional neural networks are more suitable for SCA scenarios than some other machine learning techniques, and if yes, in what situations. Our results point that convolutional neural networks indeed outperforms machine learning in several scenarios when considering accuracy.

Histone Deacetylase 6 Brain PET in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis‐Frontotemporal Spectrum Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective [18F]EKZ‐001 is a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer targeting histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), an enzyme responsible for intracellular transport and clearance of misfolded proteins. HDAC6 modulation is a promising treatment strategy in neurodegenerative disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Nuclei‐Specific Amygdala Enlargement Is Linked to Psychiatric Comorbidities in Drug‐Resistant Focal Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amygdala enlargement has been the subject of controversial studies regarding its significance in terms of pathogenicity both in epilepsy and in psychiatric comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, and post‐traumatic stress disorder.

An updated analysis of radion-higgs mixing in the light of LHC data

open access: yes, 2013
We explore the constraints on the parameter space of a Randall-Sundrum warped geometry scenario, where a radion field arises out of the attempt to stabilise the radius of the extra compact spacelike dimension, using the most recent data from higgs ...

Patient Selection in Deep Brain Stimulation: A Role for Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation to Enhance the Levodopa Challenge?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dopaminergic medication and deep brain stimulation (DBS) improve motor symptoms in Parkinson's disease (PD), but levodopa response alone may not predict DBS outcomes. We retrospectively analyzed 19 PD patients undergoing levodopa challenges with and without prior transcranial direct current stimulation targeting a defined PD response network ...

Investment Cost Channel and Monetary Transmission [PDF]

open access: yes
We show that a standard DSGE model with investment cost channels has important model stability and policy implications. Our analysis suggests that in economies characterized by supply side well as demand side channels of monetary transmission ...

EEG Response to Sedation Interruption Complements Behavioral Assessment After Severe Brain Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Accurate assessment of the level of consciousness and potential to recover in patients with severe brain injury underpins crucial decisions in the intensive care unit but remains a major challenge for the clinical team. The neurological wake‐up test is a widely used assessment tool. However, many patients' behavioral responses during

A Information-Theoretic Approach to Side-channel Analysis

open access: yes, 2015
Side-channels are unanticipated information flows that present a significant threatto security of systems. Quantitative analyses are required to measure the rate ofinformation leakage and the accuracy of information learned through side-channelattacks.
