Sidelobe Suppression with Orthogonal Projection for Multicarrier Systems

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2012
Sidelobe suppression, or out-of-band emission reduction, in multicarrier systems is conventionally achieved via time-domain windowing which is spectrum inefficient. Although some sidelobe cancellation and signal predistortion techniques have been proposed for spectrum shaping, they are generally not well balanced between complexity and suppression ...

Subcarrier weighting: a method for sidelobe suppression in OFDM systems

IEEE Communications Letters, 2006
In this letter, a method for sidelobe suppression in OFDM systems is proposed and investigated. The proposed method is based on the multiplication of the used subcarriers with subcarrier weights. The subcarrier weights are determined in such a way that the sidelobes of the transmission signal are minimized according to an optimization algorithm which ...

Sidelobe-Suppressed Bessel Beam Using Hologram

2022 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2022
We present the generation of a sidelobe suppressed Bessel beam (SBB) using a holographic technique. The peak intensity of the sidelobes of the generated SBB is about 70% less compared to a standard Bessel beam.

Sidelobe suppression in corrugated-waveguide filters

Optics Letters, 1977
The reflection sidelobes of a corrugated optical waveguide filter are shown to be suppressed when the corrugation depth is tapered with a function that has low, Fourier-transform sidelobes. Several specific taper functions are considered, and sidelobe levels lower than −70 dB are shown to be feasible.

ICAO Antenna for sidelobe suppression

2019 Conference on Microwave Techniques (COMITE), 2019
The paper presents the Chu-Dunbar reflector antenna for primary surveillance radar 1.25-1.35 GHz and integrated monopulse system for secondary surveillance radar at frequency band 1.03 and 1.09 GHz. The main topic of this paper is the mechanical concept of a dipole antenna array that produces a monopulse antenna diagram at a horizontal (azimuthal ...

Suppression of sidelobe scatterers in an AESA FMCW radar

2008 IEEE Radar Conference, 2008
This paper describes an active electronically scanned array (AESA) FMCW radar with eight transceivers. Each transceiver has its own direct digital synthesizer (DDS) for signal generation which enables digital beam forming on transmit as well as on receive.

A Sidelobe Suppression Technique for Millimeter Wave Beamforming

2018 24th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2018
Due to the millimeter wave’s high path loss, beamforming is required to provide higher gain. Conventional beamformer is widely used for its simplicity in many other studies. However, it is vulnerable to unexpected interferences since it has high level of sidelobes.

Robust Beamforming with Sidelobe Suppression for Impulsive Signals

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2015
Beamforming is a fundamental technique in array signal processing. Many existing approaches are based on second-order statistics. However, their performance degrades significantly due to outliers in the received signal. In this letter, we propose an outlier-resistant beamformer design criterion based on minimizing the expectation of the modulus of the ...
