A novel polyphase code for sidelobe suppression

2007 International Waveform Diversity and Design Conference, 2007
A binary code sequence attained by modification of a Golay code is proposed. This code has sidelobes which are out of phase with the main lobe, a property which facilitates their removal. Unknown delay-dependent phase terms proclude the multiplexing of a Golay pair in frequency.

Study on DPCA Sidelobe Clutter Suppression

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Due to the non-smooth movement of the platform, the actual multi-channel SAR system is difficult to satisfy the DPCA condition and it is required to compensate the motion error. Previous studies are only interested in the main lobe clutter suppression performance inside the PRF, while ignoring the sidelobe clutter outside the PRF.

Differential Lobing in Sidelobe Suppression Systems

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1981
The sidelobe suppression function in the secondary surveillance radar system is analyzed when separate main and control antenna are used. Their vertical lobing structures are not matched with each other, so a differential lobing pattern comes out whose maxima and minima are enveloped by smooth curves depending on vertical displacement of phase centers ...

Suppression of range sidelobes in bistatic radars

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1980
Conventional weighting schemes give little or no suppression of some of the range sidelobes of a linear-FM rectangular pulse passed through a matched filter.

Rugate filter sidelobe suppression using half-apodization

Applied Optics, 1993
Rugate filters reflectance spectra were calculated for various index profiles with half-Gaussian modulation; graded-index as well as step-index profiles were used. The results show excellent sidelobe suppression around the stopbands, relatively high optical density, and good flatness in the reflectance band.

Variable-radius focused optical vortex with suppressed sidelobes

Optics Letters, 2006
We propose a design for a phase mask for generating an optical vortex with suppressed sidelobes in the focal plane where the radius of the intensity ring is variable. A radial modulation added to conventional phase mask exp(iltheta) projects the light diffracted from different annular zones into a single intensity ring in the focal plane.

A precoding scheme for DFT-based OFDM to suppress sidelobes

IEEE Communications Letters, 2009
In spectrum pooling scenario, the spectral leakage of DFT-based OFDM signal can be divided into in-band-out-of-subband (IBOSB) radiation and out-of-band (OOB) radiation. A precoding scheme is proposed to suppress the IBOSB sidelobes. The precoding design is based on the generalized eigenvalue problem.

Suppression of Range Sidelobes of Random Modulations

2018 International Conference on Radar (RADAR), 2018
A technique is described to cancel the range sidelobes due to the use of a random waveform for radars. The technique is based on the deterministic relationship (a complex conjugation) between the range sidelobes either side of a target. The technique is demonstrated by simulation and is also shown to work with recorded data from a practical noise radar
