Optimization in the design of a 12 gigahertz low cost ground receiving system for broadcast satellites. Volume 2: Antenna system and interference [PDF]

open access: yes
The antenna characteristics are analyzed of a low cost mass-producible ground station to be used in broadcast satellite systems. It is found that a prime focus antenna is sufficient for a low-cost but not a low noise system.

Good Code Sets from Complementary Pairs via Discrete Frequency Chips

open access: yes, 2017
It is shown that replacing the sinusoidal chip in Golay complementary code pairs by special classes of waveforms that satisfy two conditions, symmetry/anti-symmetry and quazi-orthogonality in the convolution sense, renders the complementary codes immune ...

Adaptive interference techniques for mobile antennas [PDF]

open access: yes
The results of a study performed to investigate effective, low cost adaptive signal processing techniques for suppressing mutual satellite interference that can arise in a mobile satellite (MSAT) communication system are discussed.

Doppler Tolerance, Complementary Code Sets and the Generalized Thue-Morse Sequence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We generalize the construction of Doppler-tolerant Golay complementary waveforms by Pezeshki-Calderbank-Moran-Howard to complementary code sets having more than two codes.

Configuration study for a 30 GHz monolithic receive array, volume 1 [PDF]

open access: yes
Gregorian, Cassegrain, and single reflector systems were analyzed in configuration studies for communications satellite receive antennas. Parametric design and performance curves were generated.
