Multilevel mortality risk factors among pediatric hematology‐oncology patients with deterioration

open access: yesCancer, Volume 131, Issue 8, 15 April 2025.
Abstract Background Hospitalized pediatric hematology‐oncology patients have frequent clinical deterioration events (CDEs) requiring intensive care unit (ICU) interventions and resulting in high mortality, particularly in resource‐limited settings. This study identifies independent risk factors for CDE mortality in hospitals providing childhood cancer ...

A Method to Visualize Cell Proliferation of Arabidopsis thaliana: A Case Study of the Root Apical Meristem

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Plant growth and development rely on a delicate balance between cell proliferation and cell differentiation. The root apical meristem (RAM) of Arabidopsis thaliana is an excellent model to study the cell cycle due to the coordinated relationship between nucleus shape and cell size at each stage, allowing for precise estimation of the cell ...

Transcriptomic signatures and network‐based methods uncover new senescent cell anti‐apoptotic pathways and senolytics

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 8, Page 1950-1971, April 2025.
This study identifies new senescent cell antiapoptotic pathways (SCAPs) by analyzing transcriptomic signatures and co‐expression networks. We uncover novel antiapoptotic pathways, called SCAPs, and propose potential senolytic drugs, including Fluorouracil, which targets key SCAPs.

External validation of the natriuretic response prediction equation to discriminate diuretic response in heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 1, Page 668-671, February 2025.
Abstract Aims Incomplete decongestion due to lack of titration of diuretics to effective doses is a common reason for readmission in patients with acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). The natriuretic response prediction equation (NRPE) is a novel tool that proved to be rapid and accurate to predict natriuretic response and does not need urine ...
