Multiband sigma-delta modulation
A sigma-delta modulation architecture which breaks the signal band into smaller bands and uses a different band reject noise shaping transfer function per band is described. Operating at 1.024 MHz and 64 kHz signal bandwidth with 2nd order modulators, the resolution of the architecture is 4.5 bits higher than that of a standard 2nd order sigma delta ...

New pulse modulator with low switching frequency
The author presents an integrating pulse modulator (analogue signal converter) with the pulse frequency and duration modulation similar to sigma-delta modulation (with low switching frequency), without quantization.

Colored-Gaussian Multiple Descriptions: Spectral and Time-Domain Forms [PDF]
It is well known that Shannon's rate-distortion function (RDF) in the colored quadratic Gaussian (QG) case can be parametrized via a single Lagrangian variable (the "water level" in the reverse water filling solution).

Bandpass sigma-delta modulation
A bandpass version of sigma-delta modulation is presented, with simulation results for second- and fourth-order convertors. For the fourth-order convertor operating at 8 MHz, simulations demonstrate a resolution of 16 bits over an 8 kHz band centred at 1 MHz.

Calibration of DAC mismatch errors in sigma delta ADCs based on a sine-wave measurement [PDF]
We present an offline calibration procedure to correct the nonlinearity due element mismatch in the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) of a multibit Sigma Delta-modulation A/D converter.

A describing function study of saturated quantization and its application to the stability analysis of multi-bit sigma delta modulators [PDF]
Just as their single-bit counterparts, multi-bit sigma delta modulators exhibit nonlinear behavior due to the presence of the quantizer in the loop. In the multi-bit case this is caused by the fact that any quantizer has a limited output range and hence ...

Performance Scrutiny of Two Control Schemes Based on DSM and HB in Active Power Filter [PDF]
This paper presents a comparative analysis between two current control strategies, constant source power and generalized Fryze current, used in Active Power Filter (APF) applications having three different modulation methods. The Hysteresis Band (HB) and

A ΣΔ Closed-Loop Interface for a MEMS Accelerometer with Digital Built-In Self-Test Function
Sigma-delta (ΣΔ) closed-loop operation is the best candidate for realizing the interface circuit of MEMS accelerometers. However, stability and reliability problems are still the main obstacles hindering its further development for high-end ...
