Clitocybe squamulosa Polysaccharides Ameliorate Dextran Sulfate Sodium‐Induced Colitis by Regulating the PI3K/AKt/mTOR Pathway and the Intestinal Flora in Mice

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
The potential mechanisms of CSFP and CE in alleviating UC. ABSTRACT Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by persistent inflammation and ulceration of the colon. Comparative Profiling of Capsicum frutescens and C. annuum Reveals Superior Bioactivities and Nutritional Advantages for Functional Food Applications

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Systematic bioactivity profiling revealed C. frutescens demonstrated significantly superior radical scavenging capacity (DPPH IC50: 111.96 ± 3.24 μg/mL; 2.5‐fold enhancement, p < 0.001), enhanced broad‐spectrum antibacterial efficacy (zone diameters: 8–22 mm), and notable cytotoxic activity meeting NCI preliminary criteria (LC50: 29.24 ± 1.15 μg/mL ...

A Case of Refractory Lymphocele Following Living Donor Kidney Transplantation Treated With Percutaneous Balloon Fenestration Into the Peritoneal Cavity Using Interventional Radiology

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Post‐kidney transplantation lymphocele is a common complication, usually managed with percutaneous drainage, lymphangiography, or surgical fenestration. We report a refractory case successfully treated with percutaneous balloon fenestration into the peritoneal cavity using interventional radiology. Case Presentation A woman in her

Accuracy of Bowel Ultrasound for Detecting Inflammatory Bowel Disease at a Tertiary Hospital in Central South Africa

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 54, Issue 1, Page 99-108, January 2026.
Bowel wall thickness, as measured by bowel ultrasound, demonstrates high diagnostic accuracy in evaluating patients with suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). When combined with other bowel ultrasound parameters, this non‐invasive tool can serve as an effective screening method to accelerate IBD diagnosis.
