Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Signed Social Networks With Biased Assimilation

open access: yes, 2022
A biased assimilation model of opinion dynamics is a nonlinear model, in which opinions exchanged in a social network are multiplied by a state-dependent term having the bias as exponent and expressing the bias of the agents toward their own opinions ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Qualitative Reasoning Methodology for the Generation of Process Plant Operating Procedures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The analysis of operating procedures in the early stages of design can lead to safer and higher performance plants. Qualitative reasoning techniques hold considerable promise in supporting generations of operating procedures, since they are able to ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Algorithmic Aspects of Some Variations of Clique Transversal and Clique Independent Sets on Graphs

open access: yes, 2021
This paper studies the maximum-clique independence problem and some variations of the clique transversal problem such as the {k}-clique, maximum-clique, minus clique, signed clique, and k-fold clique transversal problems from algorithmic aspects for k ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A signed network perspective on the government formation process in parliamentary democracies

open access: yes, 2021
In parliamentary democracies, government negotiations talks following a general election can sometimes be a long and laborious process. In order to explain this phenomenon, in this paper we use structural balance theory to represent a multiparty ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Signed Bond Graph for multiple faults diagnosis

open access: yes, 2014
Different approaches have been developed to perform diagnosis and supervision on continuous systems. On the one hand, Consistency-Based Diagnosis (CBD) as a qualitative approach has proved its convenience to diagnose multiple faults.
