Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

ON THE HAHN–JORDAN DECOMPOSITION FOR SIGNED MEASURE VALUED STOCHASTIC PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

open access: yes, 2012
Let N-point particles be distributed over ℝd, d ∈ ℕ. The position of the ith particle at time t will be denoted r(t, qi) where qi is the position at t = 0. mi ∈ ℝ\{0} is the "weight" of the ith particle. Let δr be the point measure concentrated in r and

A walk-based measure of balance in signed networks. Detecting lack of balance in social networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
There is a longstanding belief that in social networks with simultaneous friendly and hostile interactions (signed networks) there is a general tendency to a global balance. Balance represents a state of the network with a lack of contentious situations.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Conservation of Total Vorticity for a 2D Stochastic Navier Stokes Equation

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2011
We consider 𝑁 point vortices whose positions satisfy a stochastic ordinary differential equation on ℝ2𝑁 perturbed by spatially correlated Brownian noise.

Quantifying non-monotonicity of functions and the lack of positivity in signed measures

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2017
In various research areas related to decision making, problems and their solutions frequently rely on certain functions being monotonic. In the case of non-monotonic functions, one would then wish to quantify their lack of monotonicity.
