Development of processes for the production of solar grade silicon from halides and alkali metals, phase 1 and phase 2 [PDF]
High temperature reactions of silicon halides with alkali metals for the production of solar grade silicon are described. Product separation and collection processes were evaluated, measure heat release parameters for scaling purposes and effects of ...

A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

Dopant gas effect on silicon chemical vapor depositions: A surface potential model [PDF]
A surface potential model is proposed to consistently explain the known dopant gas effects on silicon chemical vapor deposition. This model predicts that the effects of the same dopant gases on the diamond deposition rate using methane and carbon ...

Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

Hybrid Liquid Metal Cathode Enables High‐Performance Intrinsically Stretchable OLEDs
We report a hybrid liquid metal (Hyb‐LM) cathode engineered via selective rupture of liquid metal particles (LMPs), forming a bilayer architecture with a surface liquid metal (LM) layer and underlying LMP layer, which has benefits of both LM and LMPs.

Complementarity and Increasing Returns in Intermediate Inputs: A Theoretical and Applied General-Equilibrium Analysis [PDF]
Conventional analysis in the trade-industrial-organization literature suggests that, when a country has some market power over an imported good, some small level of protection must be welfare improving.

Two‐Photon 3D Printing of Functional Microstructures Inside Living Cells
This study demonstrates 3D printing inside living cells by using two‐photon photo‐lithography. A bio‐compatible photoresist is injected into cells and selectively polymerized with a femtosecond laser, creating custom‐shaped intracellular structures with submicron resolution.

Positively Charged Polymer‐Brush MOFs for Large‐Area, Pressure‐Resistant Gas Separation Membranes
A universal POPA strategy enables positively charged polymer‐brush MOFs with self‐adaptive interfacial interlocking to resist aggregation under fast processing. This design ensures seamless dispersion within large‐area selective layers, achieving 1 m‐wide roll‐to‐roll fabrication of pressure‐resistant MMCMs with tunable CO2 separation performance ...

Investigation of the liquid crystal alignment layer: effect on electrical properties
We investigate the electrical behavior of a symmetric liquid crystal (LC) cell: elecrode-silane-LC-silane-electrode. The silane (chlorodimethyloctadecyl-silane) layer induces a homeotropic orientation of the nematic liquid crystal (NLC) molecules.
