Silica-Coated Micrometer-Sized Latex Particles [PDF]
A series of silica-coated micrometer-sized poly(methyl methacrylate) latex particles are prepared using a Stöber silica deposition protocol that employs tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as a soluble silica precursor.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

The effect of surface treatment of silica nanoparticles on the breakdown strength of mineral oil [PDF]
In previous work, the results of AC breakdown tests showed that unmodified silica nanoparticles improve the breakdown strength of mineral oil based nanofluids, especially at a relatively high humidity level of around 25 ppm.

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Preparation, purification and characterization of aminopropyl-functionalized silica sol
A new, simple and “green” method was developed for the surface modification of 20 nm diameter Stöber silica particles with 3-aminopropyl(diethoxy)methylsilane in ethanol. The bulk polycondensation of the reagent was inhibited and the stability of the sol

Silica, Silicosis, and Autoimmunity [PDF]
Inhalation of dust containing crystalline silica is associated with a number of acute and chronic diseases including systemic autoimmune diseases. Evidence for the link with autoimmune disease comes from epidemiological studies linking occupational exposure to crystalline silica dust with the systemic autoimmune diseases systemic lupus erythematosus ...

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
