Radiation Induced Surface Modification of Nanoparticles and Their Dispersion in the Polymer Matrix
Polymer grafted inorganic nanoparticles attract significant attention, but pose challenges because of the complexity. In this work, a facile strategy to the graft polymer onto the surface of nanoparticles have been introduced.

The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

Weathering Resistance of Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings Reinforced with Silica from Rice Husk Ash [PDF]
: Waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs) are interesting materials for coatings when compared to solvent-based polyurethanes, once that reducing the concentration of volatile organic compounds that are harmful for human health and the environment. However, the

Combined release of platelet-rich plasma and 3D-mesenchymal stem cell encapsulation in alginate hydrogels modified by the presence of silica [PDF]
We report the modified release of platelet-rich plasma from alginate platelet-rich plasma hydrogels altered by the presence of silica. These PRP–alginate–silica compositions can be used as injectable carriers for viable mesenchymal stem ...

Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Indicative Conditionals are Material - Expanding the Survey [PDF]
Adam Rieger (2013) has carried out a survey of arguments in favour of the material account of indicative conditionals. These arguments involve simple and direct demonstrations of the material account.

The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...
