CVD-zirconia on fumed silica and silica gel

Applied Surface Science, 2005
Abstract Two series of CVD-zirconia/silica samples were synthesised on the basis of silica gel Si-60 and fumed silica A-380 as substrates using zirconium tetrachloride chemisorbed then hydrolysed heated. The reaction cycles were repeated up to four times.

Quantification of branching in fumed silica

Journal of Aerosol Science, 2017
Abstract The fractal structure of ceramic aggregates has been widely studied in terms of the mass fractal dimension and primary particle size. However, there has not yet been a quantitative description of the branched topology in these structures.

Fumed silica synthesis. Influence of hydrogen chloride on the fumed silica particle formation process

Macromolecular Symposia, 2003
AbstractInteraction of silicon dioxide molecule up to the small silica protoparticle and primary particle formation, and influence of hydrogen chloride (HCl), water (H2O) and inert molecules (nitrogen N2) “under flame condition” and “after cooling” on structure and properties of fumed silica were investigated by quantum‐chemical simulations. An attempt

Sustainable route for silica preparation from silica fume

Environmental Technology
Silica fume (SF) is a major voluminous and bulky by-product of the ferrosilicon industry, and its disposal poses a significant environmental concern. To address this issue, a sustainable approach was employed to transform SF into silica powder using a precipitation method.

A study of nanoparticles : silica fume and woodsmoke

2003
The research studies described herein were undertaken in order to characterize the particulate matter comprising the inorganic pollutant silica fume emitted by an electrometallurgical process and the organic emission of woodsmoke from residential woodheaters.
