Compressive Creep of Fireclay Refractories With Varying Recycled Content
International Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 8, Issue 6, November 2026.Compressive creep of fireclay bricks with varying recycled fractions was studied up to 1100°C using the Norton–Bailey law. Higher recyclate contents reduced creep strain and rates. Although bulk chemistry is similar, microstructures differ: Recyclate fines generate more liquid, accelerate transformations, erase texture, and therefore lower creep rates.
