Literature review Characteristics and rationale for the clinical application of tricalcium silicate cement sealer

open access: yesЭндодонтия Today, 2020
Bioceramics-based sealers were introduced to the market after bioceramic cements had appeared. Recently, lots of studies have been carried out regarding the physicochemical and biological properties of sealer such as BioRoot RCSTM based on tricalcium ...

Study on the composite fracture characteristics of filling and reinforcing cracked rock mass after high temperature damage

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Cement infill shares compressive and shear stresses during loading, while interfacial friction hinders crack propagation and reduces stress concentration, improving the rock's load‐bearing capacity. Failure modes vary with crack inclination. Unfilled specimens show four modes.

Effect of Additives on Mineral Trioxide Aggregate Setting Reaction Product Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Introduction Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) sets via hydration of calcium silicates to yield calcium silicate hydrates and calcium hydroxide (Ca[OH]2). However, a drawback of MTA is its long setting time.

On the global hydration kinetics of tricalcium silicate cement

open access: yes, 1996
We reconsider a number of measurements for the overall hydration kinetics of tricalcium silicate pastes having an initial water to cement weight ratio close to 0.5.

Selective Optical Properties of Cement for Enhanced Radiative Cooling and Energy‐Efficient Construction Materials

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Cement phases are good materials for radiative cooling thanks to the selective emissivity in IR ATW. Cement powders have high reflectance of solar radiation which reduces the thermal losses. The onset of the absorption curves is defined by bound excitons. Sulfates have higher radiated powers and reflectance than calcium silicates.

Bottlenecks‐Breaking in Zinc‐Iodine Batteries Toward Practical Implementation: A Review and Perspective

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Aqueous zinc–iodine batteries (Zn–I2Bs) offer promise for grid storage due to safety and cost advantages yet face critical bottlenecks: severe self‐discharge (polyiodide shuttling and HER), limited energy density, sluggish kinetics, and zinc anode instability.

Mechanical and biological evaluation of β-dicalcium silicate/dicalcium phosphate-based cements: promising materials for biomedical applications

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science
This study explores the synthesis and evaluation of β-Dicalcium silicate and Dicalcium phosphate-based cements for biomedical use. β-Tricalcium phosphate was synthesized using microwave-assisted wet precipitation, while β-Dicalcium silicate was prepared ...

Evaluation of Shear Bond Strength and Marginal Adaptation of Calcium Silicate-based Cements and Premixed Bioceramics When Restored with Glass Ionomer Cement: An In Vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of South Asian Association of Pediatric Dentistry
Aims and background: In primary molars, pulpotomy is recommended when the radicular pulp tissue is either healthy or capable of healing. A biologically compatible pulpotomy agent is used to seal the radicular pulp.
