Silicon nanophotonic waveguides and their applications [PDF]
We discuss silicon photonic wires and components based on this technology, such as filters based on ring resonators, interferometers or arrayed waveguide gratings. The devices are fabricated using standard CMOS technology, including 193nm lithography.

Imprinted silicon-based nanophotonics
We demonstrate and optically characterize silicon-on-insulator based nanophotonic devices fabricated by nanoimprint lithography. In our demonstration, we have realized ordinary and topology-optimized photonic crystal waveguide structures. The topology-optimized structures require lateral pattern definition on a sub 30-nm scale in combination with a ...

Integration of nanodiamonds with NV-centers on optical silicon nitride structures [PDF]
In this work we had developed optical structures from silicon nitride for further integration of the nanodiamonds containing NV-centers with them. We have introduced method of the nanodiamonds solution application on the substrates.

Nanoimprint Lithography for Nanophotonics in Silicon
A novel inverse imprinting procedure for nanolithography is presented which offers a transfer accuracy and feature definition that is comparable to state-of-the-art nanofabrication techniques. We illustrate the fabrication quality of a demanding nanophotonic structure: a photonic crystal waveguide.

C-Band and O-Band Silicon Photonic Based Low-Power Variable Optical Attenuators
We propose and experimentally demonstrate low-power and broadband variable optical attenuators (VOAs) on the silicon photonics platform. The VOAs are based on a Mach–Zehnder interferometer structure.

Method for determination of resists parameters for photonic - integrated circuits e-beam lithography on silicon nitride platform [PDF]
In the work the thicknesses of the e-beam resists ZEP 520A and ma-N 2400 by using non-destructive method were measured, as well as recipe for the high ratio between the Si3N4 and the resists etching rate was determined.

Single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) are widely used for weak light detection due to their high gain and high sensitivity. Unfortunately, SPAD devices have random telegraph signal (RTS) noise during the avalanche transition phase, which makes circuit ...

Subwavelength Silicon Nanophotonics
A new optical waveguide principle is proposed, exploiting subwavelength grating effect. We demonstrate first subwavelength grating waveguides, including practical components such as highly efficient fibre-chip couplers, waveguide crossings and microspectrometer chips.
