Decoding Chemo‐Mechanical Failure Mechanisms of Solid‐State Lithium Metal Battery Under Low Stack Pressure via Optical Fiber Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
By FBG sensing the Li/electrolyte interfacial stress in solid‐state battery, the Li metal anode failure reasons as dendrite‐induced uneven stress distribution at electrode/electrolyte interface are disclosed. A Li–Sn composite anode is demonstrated effective in stabilizing the interface mechanics and the solid‐state full cell performance at low stack ...

Scaling Up Purcell‐Enhanced Self‐Assembled Nanoplasmonic Perovskite Scintillators into the Bulk Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a scalable approach to enhancing bulk scintillators using nanoplasmonics. By integrating 100‐nm silver nanoparticles with perovskite scintillator nanocrystals in a polymer matrix, significant improvements in light yield and decay rates via the Purcell effect are achieved.

Mechanochromic, Low‐Cost, and Structurally Colored Displays Using Biodegradable Hydroxypropyl Cellulose

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanochromic hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) integrated with microfluidic devices creates scalable, eco‐friendly reflective color displays. We demonstrate mechanochromic displays with 500 µm pixel size and 5Hz switching rates with room for optimisation. The proposed mechanochromic HPC displays are an initial step toward more environmentally responsible

Exceptional Thermal Conductivity in Printed Dielectrics through Compositional and Microstructural Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multi‐generational compositional design creates a printable low‐loss dielectric composite that achieves over 16 W m−1 K−1. This breakthrough is enabled by thermal post‐processing, which promotes templated crystallization in a polymer matrix from surface‐modified particles, creating a “hetero‐percolated network.” The resulting material is three ...
