Comparison between textured silicone implants and those bonded with expanded polytetrafluoroethylene in rats Comparação entre implantes de silicone texturizados e esses recobertos por politetrafluoroetileno-expandido em ratos

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2007
PURPOSE: Comparison of the inflammatory reaction promoted by textured silicone implants and that caused by the implant bonded with e-ptfe. METHODS: One-hundred and fifty rats were divided into three equal groups (control, silicone, and bonded e-ptfe ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Artery‐on‐Chip Demonstrates Mechanical and Functional Features of Healthy and Diseased Living Smooth Muscle Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article details the development of an artery‐on‐chip platform for in vitro arterial disease modeling and therapeutic discovery. It describes the fabrication of a fibrin biomaterial scaffold seeded with iPSC‐derived smooth muscle and endothelial cells, mimicking native artery properties. Two genetic disease models showcase the platform's ability to
