A Circuit of Mechanically Regulated Transcription Factors Balances Regenerative and Fibrotic Memory of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Producing MSCs on rigid culture substrates induces a scar‐making phenotype, jeapordizing therapeutic success. ‘Tissue‐soft’ surfaces prevent MSC fibrogenesis and preserve regenerative traits. An epigenetic network, driven by HOXA11 and SALL1, maintains ‘soft memory’ by keeping chromatin open in relaxed MSCs, promoting anti‐fibrotic programs.

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Transient Hypopyon With Marked Anterior Chamber Fibrin Following Pars Plana Vitrectomy and Silicone Oil Injection

open access: yes, 1989
• In a retrospective review of 30 cases of complex retinal detachment, which had been managed by pars plana vitrectomy techniques together with silicone oil injection, we found that two patients developed marked postoperative anterior chamber fibrin and ...

Acute corneal decompensation after silicone oil removal

open access: yes, 1999
To assess acute corneal decompensation after silicone oil removal in some aphakic eyes with clear corneas whose anterior chambers were completely filled with silicone oil for a considerable period of time.Eight eyes of 8 patients who underwent vitrectomy

Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuators for Radially Contracting Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an Electrohydraulic Folding Ring Actuator that combines high‐performance electrohydraulic actuation with origami‐inspired folding geometry to achieve constricting radial actuation. This integration yields significant inner lumen constriction, alongside a gripping force capable of holding objects exceeding four times the actuator's ...

Acute glaucoma following vitrectomy and silicone oil injection. [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 1987
Three cases are described of acute glaucoma following vitrectomy and silicone oil injection in proliferative vitreous retinopathy. The first case developed silicone-induced pupillary block in a phakic eye. Cases 2 and 3 developed elevated pressure in aphakic eyes with deep anterior chambers. Cases 1 and 3 were treated by laser iridectomy.
