Experimental Setup for Splash Erosion Monitoring—Study of Silty Loam Splash Characteristics [PDF]
An experimental laboratory setup was developed and evaluated in order to investigate detachment of soil particles by raindrop splash impact. The soil under investigation was a silty loam Cambisol, which is typical for agricultural fields in Central ...

Soil organic matter and mineral content as crucial factors for the fate of tetracycline in soils
Abstract Soil self‐cleaning ability and bioavailability of different pollutants are strongly dependent on the soil properties. It is not easy to determine effects of individual soil characteristics because they can impact together often in a synergic effect.

Damping Modification Factors for Pile–Induced Filtering Effect
ABSTRACT Period–dependent Damping Modification Factors are usually applied to the 5%–damped pseudo–acceleration response spectrum at free field conditions to derive the seismic demand for structures with damping ratio other than 5%. Likewise, the response spectrum at the foundation level of pile–supported structures may differ from the free field ...

Shear strength of an unsaturated silty sand [PDF]
This paper presents a series of direct shear tests performed on a silty sand at three different gravimetric water contents. The soil was sampled from test pits south of Ruedlingen in North East Switzerland, where a landslide triggering experiment was carried out on a 37°-40° steep forested slope through infiltration of extreme artificial rainfall.

This study reveals the temporal and spatial evolution law of roof separation under the karst aquifer and the dynamic water inrush mechanism of roof separation. The FAHP–EWM–CRITIC combination weighting method was established to obtain the risk zoning of bed separation water inrush in a karst landform mining area. ABSTRACT Coalfields in northern Guizhou
