INFUENCE OF MODIFIERS ON THE CHANGE OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SILUMINS
An increase in the sum of alloying elements in industrial silumins causes the formation of excess intermetallic phases in their structure. When introducing modifiers in such alloys above a certain amount, structural components are coarsened because of overmodification, which can cause a decrease in the mechanical properties of cast alloys.
