Palaeobiology of Silurian trilobites from North Greenland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The Telychian (Llandovery, Silurian) reefs of North Greenland yield extensive collections of diverse and remarkably well preserved trilobites. The collections comprise 36 named trilobite species (32 new), and 30 under open nomenclature.

Detrital provenance evolution of the Ediacaran-Silurian Nanhua foreland basin, South China

open access: yes, 2014
We report here in-situ U–Pb and Hf isotopic results of detrital zircons from sixteen Cambrian–Silurian siliciclastic samples across the Nanhua foreland basin, South China.

Comparative Ionomics of Lycopodiaceae and Selaginellaceae Across Diverse Soil Types in Japan

open access: yesEcological Research, Volume 41, Issue 4, July 2026.
We conducted a comparative ionomic analysis of Lycopodiaceae and Selaginellaceae collected from diverse soil types in Japan, including serpentine soils and solfatara fields, to examine how evolutionary lineage and soil environment shape elemental composition in lycophytes.

Silurian stratigraphy of Central Iran – an update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Silurian biostratigraphy, lithostratigraphy, and facies of Central Iran including the Kashmar (Boghu Mountains), Tabas (Derenjal Mountains, Ozbak-Kuh), Anarak (Pol-e Khavand) and Kerman regions is re-viewed and updated. The current state of knowledge

Fracture characteristics and stress disturbance analysis for well optimization of Silurian in Shunbei area, central Tarim Basin

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi
The complex tectonic stress in the Shunbei area of the central Tarim Basin results in varied patterns of multilayered fractures. When drilling into the Silurian fracture zone and the formation pressure is lower than the drilling fluid column pressure ...

Hyperspectral Fingerprinting of Dune Sediments Across the Arabian Peninsula: Insights Into Sediment Provenance and Transport Pathways From NASA's EMIT Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract The Arabian Peninsula encompasses one of the world's most extensive aeolian systems, yet the provenance and transport history of its dune sediments are not well understood. Using hyperspectral data from NASA's Earth Surface Mineral Dust Source Investigation (EMIT), we mapped mineral compositions and abundance patterns across dune fields and ...

Silurian and Devonian source rocks and crude oils from the western part of Libya: Organic geochemistry, palynology and carbon stratigraphy

open access: yes, 2015
The Early Silurian “hot” shales and Late Devonian black shales are major regional oil and gas source rocks in North Africa. Their deposition probably played a major role in global carbon cycling in general because of the large areas of the ocean affected.
