Comparing Homodimer and Homotrimer Noncovalent Complexes Involving Coinage Metals: A Theoretical Perspective

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 19, 14 October 2026.
In this study, the ability of M2 clusters (M = Cu, Ag, and Au) to form noncovalent homodimers/homotrimers has been evaluated at the RI‐PBE0‐D4/def2‐TZVPD level of theory. The results have been complemented with QTAIM, NCIplot, and EDA analyses, which helped to shed light on the physical nature of these unconventional noncovalent contacts. In this study,

Surface Segregation in Compositionally Complex Ag‐Au‐Pd‐Pt Solid Solutions: Insights From High‐Throughput Experimentation and Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 19, 6 October 2026.
Surface segregation in quaternary Ag‐Au‐Pd‐Pt compositionally complex solid solutions is systematically mapped across 684 compositions by combining high‐throughput EDX and XPS characterization of co‐sputtered thin‐film libraries with large‐scale MD/MC atomistic simulations.

Detection Range Setting via Electropolymerization of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers With Plasmonic Optical Fiber Probes – The Case Study of Caffeine as a Small Molecule

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2026.
The capabilities of surface plasmon resonance optical fiber probes combined with electropolymerized molecularly imprinted polymers (eMIPs) are used to extend the small‐size molecule detection concentration range by tuning eMIP layer thicknesses. This tuning is achieved by modifying a single electropolymerization parameter: the deposition time.

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 56, 9 October 2026.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Isomeric Ag14 Nanoclusters With Distinct Photophysical and Nanomechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 57, 14 October 2026.
Ligand‐shell isomerism in atomically precise Ag14 nanoclusters is demonstrated to regulate core distortion, photoluminescence, and mechanical properties. Subtle changes in phosphine ligand arrangement drive a pronounced emission shift from green to red and alter crystal rigidity, revealing a direct structure‐property correlation that offers new design ...
