Solvent-Adaptable Silver Nanoparticles
Langmuir, 2005A simple and efficient way of obtaining silver nanoparticles that are dispersible both in organic and in aqueous solvents using a single capping agent is described. The silver nanoparticles are initially prepared in water in the presence of aerosol OT [sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)-sulfosuccinate, AOT].

Silver nanoparticles in dentistry
Dental Materials, 2017Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been extensively studied for their antimicrobial properties, which provide an extensive applicability in dentistry. Because of this increasing interest in AgNPs, the objective of this paper was to review their use in nanocomposites; implant coatings; pre-formulation with antimicrobial activity against cariogenic ...

Temporal fluctuations in the Raman spectrum from molecules adsorbed to noble metal colloids (i.e., “blinking”) has been viewed as a single molecule signature. It is demonstrated here that silver colloids exhibit blinking that is independent of the nature of the adsorbate.

Bioreduction mechanism of silver nanoparticles
Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2020The studies represent in-depth investigations of bacteria mediated reduction mechanism of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) not reported so far. Ag NPs were successfully synthesized by Bacillus subtilis spizizenni (NCIM 2063), and their bioreduction mechanism has been explored in detail.

Wool keratin-stabilized silver nanoparticles
Bioresource Technology, 2010In this paper, we explored a facile method to prepare stable silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using extracted wool keratin as the capping agent. The formation of Ag NPs was investigated by UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray photo-electron spectrometer and X-ray diffraction spectrometer.

Silver nanoparticles induce silver nanoparticle-specific allergic responses (HYP6P.274)
The Journal of Immunology, 2014Abstract Metals, such as Au, Ag, and Ni cause various types of allergic reactions. Several models have been proposed to explain the activation of metal-allergy, for example, analogous to typical haptens such as TNP, T cell recognize a complex of metal ions with MHC-embedded self-peptides. In general, metal-allergy means metal-ion allergy.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have garnered attention as an effective solution for anti-microbial food packaging. Agri-food waste should be viewed as a source of valuable products, paving the way for a zero-waste economy. With special qualities that may greatly improve the quality and safety of packaged food items, this chapter examines the various ways

Thermoresponsive polymer-stabilized silver nanoparticles
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) stabilized by a thermoresponsive polymer, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM), have been synthesized by the reduction of silver ions with NaBH(4) in aqueous solutions. The obtained Ag NPs are very stable at room temperature due to the extended coil conformation of the PNIPAM chain at temperatures below its volume phase ...
