Cadê o Kauê? Co-design and acceptability testing of a chat-story aimed at enhancing youth participation in the promotion of mental health in Brazil. [PDF]
Background Adolescent mental health is vital for public health, yet many interventions fail to recognise adolescents as proactive community contributors. This paper discusses the co‐design and acceptability testing of a chat‐story intervention to enhance Brazilian adolescents' participation in the promotion of mental health in their peer communities ...

Global anaesthesia practice using inguinal hernia surgery as a tracer condition: a secondary analysis of an international prospective cohort study. [PDF]
Summary Introduction Restoration of surgical capacity is essential to post‐COVID‐19 recovery. This study explored the use and safety of anaesthesia options for inguinal hernia surgery, a common tracer condition, to describe current global practice and highlight opportunities to build the capacity of health systems.

Host-parasite relationship in urban environments: A network analysis of haemoparasite infections in Nasua nasua Linnaeus (South American coati). [PDF]
Urban environments alter host–parasite dynamics, as seen in Nasua nasua, where haemotropic Mycoplasma plays a key role in parasite spread through frequent social interactions. Network analysis revealed low modularity in interactions between N. nasua and tick‐borne haemoparasites, with functional roles unaffected by biotic factors, tick infestation or ...

Suction Feeding in Dendropsophus cerradensis Tadpoles: New Behavioral Observations and Morphological Traits in a Member of the D. microcephalus Group (Anura, Hylidae). [PDF]
The tadpole of Dendropsophus cerradensis exhibits an oral tube completely covered by external folds. The feeding behavior is characterized by an oral tube that protrudes exclusively during predation. This macrophagy feeding is associated with a buccopharyngeal cavity reduced in features, robust mandibular and hyoid musculature, as well as a modified ...

Abstract The Amazon forest has the highest biodiversity on Earth. However, information on Amazonian vertebrate diversity is still deficient and scattered across the published, peer‐reviewed, and gray literature and in unpublished raw data. Camera traps are an effective non‐invasive method of surveying vertebrates, applicable to different scales of time

Roadkill patterns in Latin American birds and mammals
Abstract Aim Roads are a major threat for wildlife, degrading habitat and causing mortality via wildlife–vehicle collisions. In Latin America, the conjunction of high biodiversity and a rapidly expanding road network is reason for concern. We introduce an approach that combines species traits and habitat preferences to describe vulnerability and map ...

We used camera trap data to investigate whether Cerrado mammals would shift part of their activity towards the night in response to anthropogenic pressure. Our results revealed that 12 out of 14 species investigated did not show a temporal response to pressure.

Genetic structuring in a Neotropical palm analyzed through an Andean orogenesis‐scenario
Andean orogeny explains the structuring of genetic diversity in the palm Oenocarpus bataua into four genetic clusters within northwestern South America. These clusters maintain genetic exchange between them, even across the Andes. A hotspot of genetic diversity was determined in the northern Peruvian Amazonia.

This scoping review (2020–2025) compiles validated evidence on the antioxidant potential of unconventional edible plants (PANCs). Thirty species showed high phenolic content and strong radical‐scavenging activity, reinforcing their role as natural antioxidants and sustainable alternatives to synthetic additives within biodiversity‐based food systems ...
