A stability criterion, applicable in the analysis of a class of single-loop control systems, is derived. The loop of a system from this class of systems consists of a tandem connection of a time-varying gain; a memoryless, time-invariant, nonlinear operator; and an operator which satisfies an inner product inequality.

Similarity of output traces as a seismic operator criterion
Geophysics, 1955Abstract The problem of emphasizing signals on multiple trace seismograms is approached by considering a relationship between the input and output records. It is proposed that the transformation to output record be one which causes the output traces to be most "similar" or "in phase" according to a certain definition of this property.

A SBAN STEREOVISION ALGORITHM Using Hue as Pixel Similarity Criterion
2006This paper presents a similarity-based adaptive neighborhood (SBAN) dense stereovision algorithm which uses color for comparing pixels. In SBAN methods, the neighbor pixels which are not similar to the central one are excluded of the window when computing the correlation index, which corresponds to adapting the equivalent size and shape of the cor ...

On a Criterion of Similarity between Partitions Based on Rough Set Theory
2009In this paper, we introduce a criterion of similarity between partitions. The proposed similarity criterion is a generalization of an evaluation criterion of relative reducts proposed by the authors and evaluates the similarity of partitions by correctness and roughness with each other.

Isodromic criterion of thermodynamic similarity for orthobaric volumes
Soviet Physics Journal, 1978The new criterion of thermodynamic similarity obtained for orthobaric volumes can be used to calculate and correlate their values for little-investigated substances as well as to determine whether a chemical compound belongs to one group of thermodynamic similarity or another.

A criterion for the similarity of a closed operator to a self-adjoint operator
Ukrainian Mathematical Journal, 1985Let A be a closed linear operator in a Hilbert space H. The author obtains a criterion for the similarity of A to a selfadjoint operator T in terms of the resolvent of A. This is used to prove well-known resuls earlier obtained by Sz.-Nagy and C. Foias, I. S. Gokhberg and M. G. Krein, L. A.
