Geometry Optimization of Self‐Similar Transport Network [PDF]
We optimize geometries of various self‐similar transport networks using a three‐step strategy based on the entransy theory. Using this optimization method, we obtained optimal relationships of geometric parameters of T‐shape networks for fluid flow, heat conduction, convective heat transfer, and other transport phenomena.

Geometry of Similarity Comparisons
Many data analysis problems can be cast as distance geometry problems in \emph{space forms} -- Euclidean, spherical, or hyperbolic spaces. Often, absolute distance measurements are often unreliable or simply unavailable and only proxies to absolute distances in the form of similarities are available.

Self-similar spacetimes: Geometry and dynamics [PDF]
The nature and uses of self-similarity in general relativity are discussed. A spacetime may be self-similar (homothetic) along surfaces of any dimensionality, from 1 to 4. A geometric construction is given for all self-similar spacetimes. As an important special case, the “spatially self-similar cosmological models” are introduced, and their dynamical ...

Visual Arts in U.S. Geometry Textbooks Aligned with the Common Core Standards
This study investigates visual arts references in five U.S. high school geometry textbooks aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. In all of the textbooks, architecture is the most commonly used context. More than half of the visual

Limits of Predictability of a Global Self-Similar Routing Model in a Local Self-Similar Environment
Regional Distributed Hydrological models are being adopted around the world for prediction of streamflow fluctuations and floods. However, the details of the hydraulic geometry of the channels in the river network (cross sectional geometry, slope, drag ...

Building Geometry Simplification for Improving Mesh Quality of Numerical Analysis Model
Numerical analysis, especially the finite volume method (FVM), is one of the primary approaches employed when evaluating a building environment. A complicated geometry can degrade the mesh quality, leading to numerical diffusions and errors.

DCG++: A data-driven metric for geometric pattern recognition.
Clustering large and complex data sets whose partitions may adopt arbitrary shapes remains a difficult challenge. Part of this challenge comes from the difficulty in defining a similarity measure between the data points that captures the underlying ...
