Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

ENJ algorithm can construct triple phylogenetic trees

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2021
Phylogenetic analysis is used to analyze the evolution of species according to the characteristics of biological sequences. The analytical results are generally represented by phylogenetic trees.

Performance prediction for set similarity joins [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 30th Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, 2015
Query performance prediction is essential for many important tasks in cloud-based database management including resource provisioning, admission control, and pricing. Recently, there has been some work on building prediction models to estimate execution time of traditional SQL queries.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Profile Matching in Heterogeneous Academic Social Networks using Knowledge Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesComputer and Knowledge Engineering
With the increasing popularity of academic social networks, many users join more than one network to benefit from their unique features. However, matching the profiles of a user, despite being crucial for data verification and update synchronization, is ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
