Analyzing the Stimulus Control Acquisition in Simple Discrimination Tasks through Eye Movement

open access: yesPsicologia: Reflexão e Crítica, 2015
In order to investigate whether simultaneous or successive presentation of stimuli is related to the duration of eye fixation (i.e., the time spent gazing a specific stimulus), this study described the eye movements of young adults in simultaneous and ...

A Simple Multifunction Discriminator for Multichannel Triggers [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1983
A simple version of a multifunction timing discriminator using only two integrated circuits is presented. It can be configured as a leading edge, a constant fraction, a zero cross or a dual threshold timing discriminator. Since so few parts are used, it is well suited for building multichannel timing discriminators.

Pitch discrimination by ferrets for simple and complex sounds [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009
Although many studies have examined the performance of animals in detecting a frequency change in a sequence of tones, few have measured animals’ discrimination of the fundamental frequency (F0) of complex, naturalistic stimuli. Additionally, it is not yet clear if animals perceive the pitch of complex sounds along a continuous, low-to-high scale. Here,

Examining the impact of cue similarity and fear learning on perceptual tuning

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Past research on the effects of associative aversive learning on discrimination acuity has shown mixed results, including increases, decreases, and no changes in discrimination ability.

Discriminação simples com mudanças sucessivas na função dos estímulos: aprendizagem em bebês

open access: yesPsicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa
Investigou-se em três bebês a aprendizagem de discriminações simples com mudanças sucessivas na função dos estímulos (DSMS). Figuras animadas foram apresentadas em uma tela sensível ao toque.

Optical quantum super-resolution imaging and hypothesis testing

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Estimating the angular separation between two incoherent sources below the diffraction limit is challenging. Hypothesis testing and quantum state discrimination techniques are used to super-resolve sources of different brightness with a simple optical ...

Condições experimentais facilitadoras para a aprendizagem de discriminação por bebês

open access: yesPsicologia: Teoria e Pesquisa
A investigação sobre a aprendizagem de discriminações simples e condicionais por bebês requer um planejamento experimental com variáveis e características da situação apropriadas às peculiaridades da população.

The Discriminant Matrix of a Semi-Simple Algebra [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1931
(1) T1' =ATJA, T2' = AT2A where Af denotes the transpose of A. Thus the ranks of T1 and T2 are invariant, and if ; is a real field, so are the signatures. Other elementary properties of these matrices were discussed and their occurrence in the literature noted.
