Cluster Flow: A user-friendly bioinformatics workflow tool [version 2; referees: 3 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2017
Pipeline tools are becoming increasingly important within the field of bioinformatics. Using a pipeline manager to manage and run workflows comprised of multiple tools reduces workload and makes analysis results more reproducible.

Whittaker categories and strongly typical Whittaker modules for Lie superalgebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Following analogous constructions for Lie algebras, we define Whittaker modules and Whittaker categories for finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebras.

Simple-separable modules

open access: yesInternational Electronic Journal of Algebra
A module $M$ over a ring is called simple-separable if every simple submodule of $M$ is contained in a finitely generated direct summand of $M$. While a direct sum of any family of simple-separable modules is shown to be always simple-separable, we prove that a direct summand of a simple-separable module does not inherit the property, in general.

Graded simple modules and loop modules

open access: yes, 2016
Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a $G$-graded simple module over a unital associative algebra, graded by an abelian group $G$, to be isomorphic to a loop module of a simple module, as well as for two such loop modules to be isomorphic to each other.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Simple Modules for Modular Lie Superalgebras W(0∣n), S(0∣n), and K(n)

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2015
This paper constructs a series of modules from modular Lie superalgebras W(0∣n), S(0∣n), and K(n) over a field of prime characteristic p≠2. Cartan subalgebras, maximal vectors of these modular Lie superalgebras, can be solved.

A Novel Docking System for Modular Self-Reconfigurable Robots

open access: yesRobotics, 2017
Existing self-reconfigurable robots achieve connections and disconnections by a separate drive of the docking system. In this paper, we present a new docking system with which the connections and disconnections are driven by locomotion actuators, without

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Application of Thermal Network Model to Transient Thermal Analysis of Power Electronic Package Substrate

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 2011
In recent years, there is a growing demand to have smaller and lighter electronic circuits which have greater complexity, multifunctionality, and reliability.
