Utilization of peripheral nerve feedback at a preconscious level

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience
IntroductionSensorimotor integration is important, if not required, when using our hands. The integration of the tactile and motor systems is disrupted in individuals with upper limb amputations because their connection to their fingertips is lost ...

Effect of Colour of Object on Simple Visual Reaction Time in Normal Subjects [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, 2014
The measure of simple reaction time has been used to evaluate the processing speed of CNS and the co-ordination between the sensory and motor systems.

Effect of handedness on visual, auditory and cutaneous reaction times in normal subjects [PDF]

open access: yesAl Ameen Journal of Medical Sciences, 2013
Background & Objective: Simple reaction time is the time interval between stimulus and response. In this study the impact of handedness on auditory, visual and cutaneous simple reaction time have been investigated. Methods: 100 healthy male volunteers of

Age differences in intra-individual variability in simple and choice reaction time: systematic review and meta-analysis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
BackgroundIntra-individual variability in reaction time (RT IIV) is considered to be an index of central nervous system functioning. Such variability is elevated in neurodegenerative diseases or following traumatic brain injury.

USING COMPUTER-GAMING TESTS TO EVALUATE HAND SIMPLE REACTION TIME TO VISUAL STIMULUS

open access: yesSport şi Societate, 2016
Aim. The research aimed to identify the hand reaction time to visual stimulus depending on laterality, by using the computer-gaming test. The computer technology can be applied to improve the reaction time of both dominant and non-dominant segment ...

Simple visual and simple auditory reaction time: A comparison [PDF]

open access: yesPsychonomic Science, 1968
In two experiments the classically reported difference of about 40 msec between simple RTs to high intensity tone and light was reproduced using 1° and 3° targets, but was reduced to 24 msec by illuminating virtually the whole retinal surface. In a third experiment, the indicated relations between target size and RT were repeated.

The motor system in simple reaction time experiments

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 1974
Abstract In this paper evidence is presented that the variability of the motor system does not play an important role in the variability of simple reaction time. Many studies refer to this fact which, however, seems contradictory to electrophysiological data.
