Topology‐based Visual Analysis of Hydrothermal Plumes
Abstract Hydrothermal plumes are turbulent structures of intense heat and mineral smoke that rise and disperse into the deep ocean. Existing models generally characterize these systems as a single axisymmetric plume originating from a point source. However, this assumption breaks down in weakly venting, spatially distributed systems, where low‐flux ...

Scalable Computation of Topological Abstractions for Scalar Data
Abstract Topological data analysis has become an important tool for large scale scalar data analysis and visualization, efficiently extracting the inherent structure and features of interest of the data. However, with growing dataset sizes and complexity, it is increasingly becoming infeasible to compute topological abstractions of interest in serial ...

The Story(line) So Far: A Survey on Storyline Visualization
Abstract Storyline visualizations model narratives as temporal networks, using x‐monotone lines to represent entities and their interactions over time. This technique offers an intuitive way to reveal structural patterns over time, such as character co‐occurrence and narrative flow.

Meshing Unsigned Distance Fields with Regular Triangulations
Abstract Unsigned distance fields (UDF) are a versatile, implicit representation of geometry. They can represent surfaces that are not bounding a solid or contain points or curves that are not manifold, for example several sheets meeting along a common curve. Contouring the implicit representation, i.e. turning it into an explicit one, requires finding

A practical algorithm for weighted k‐hulls
Abstract The convex hull is a central concept in computational geometry, geometry processing, and generally for summarizing sampled data. Its descriptive power suffers significantly in the presence of noise. The k‐hull, also known as the k‐depth contour in statistics, is the intersection of all half‐spaces that contain all but k data points, i.e. it is

HySE: A Force‐Directed Layout Algorithm for Directed and Mixed Graphs
We present HySE, a novel graph layout algorithm for mixed graphs combining directed and undirected components. Using a holistic spring embedder approach, HySE unifies hierarchical and force‐directed aesthetics, supports non‐uniform node sizes, and performs comparably to state‐of‐the‐art algorithms.

S1 guideline sweat gland carcinoma
Summary The current classification of sweat gland carcinomas is based on histomorphological characteristics and distinguishes between more than 20 entities. Most patients are older, but some subtypes also affect middle‐aged and younger patients. The majority of tumors arise de novo. Sweat gland carcinomas have nonspecific clinical features.

Summary Background and objectives Some atopic dermatitis (AD) treatments have been linked to an increased risk of herpes zoster (HZ). Limited evidence suggests an independent association between atopic dermatitis and herpes zoster. The study aimed to investigate the association between atopic dermatitis and herpes zoster in the UK and to explore the ...

The Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE) can be successfully implemented in low‐resource tertiary care settings. Paediatric residents facilitated the implementation of HINE. Early detection of cerebral palsy and referral at an average age of 10.6 months in Ethiopia were achieved.

Age of Type 1 Diabetes Onset and Dementia Risk: A Swedish Nationwide, Register‐Based Cohort Study
ABSTRACT Aims Individuals with Type 1 diabetes are at a higher risk of dementia compared to individuals without diabetes. Younger age at Type 1 diabetes onset has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and higher mortality. This study aimed to determine whether younger age at Type 1 diabetes onset was also associated with all‐cause ...
