The inverse resonance problem for perturbations of algebro-geometric potentials
We prove that a compactly supported perturbation of a rational or simply periodic algebro-geometric potential of the one-dimensional Schr\"odinger equation on the half line is uniquely determined by the location of its Dirichlet eigenvalues and ...

Theory of fishnet negative-index optical metamaterials [PDF]
We theoretically study fishnet metamaterials at optical frequencies. In contrast to earlier works, we provide a microscopic description by tracking the transversal and longitudinal flows of energy through the fishnet mesh composed of intersecting ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Free Vibration of Simply Supported Beam on Elastic Foundations
Fourier series and finite element analysis are utilized to obtain the solution of simply supported beams resting on elastic foundations with different loadings in order to arrive at a free vibration.

Hybrid Test on a Simply Supported Bridge With High-Damping Rubber Bearings
In this study, hybrid simulation techniques are used to test earthquake excitation on a supported bridge with High-damping rubber (HDR) bearings, which are widely used in girder bridges.

Dynamic analysis of a simply supported beam with crack [PDF]
The crack present in the structure changes the physical nature of it as well as changes the dynamic response towards the vibration. For the analysis the depth and location of the crack are important parameters which change the response.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Standards guidelines for human comfort tested on timber footbridges
Activities such as walking, running and jumping can produce undesirable dynamic excitations, which are a phenomenon that occurs due to pedestrian-induced dynamic forces whenever a footbridge features a natural frequency within stepping frequency ranges ...

Theoretical modal analysis of freely and simply supported RC slabs [PDF]
This paper focuses on the dynamic behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) slabs. Therefore, the theoretical modal analysis was performed using two different types of boundary conditions. Modal analysis method is the most important dynamic analyses.

Exact 3D solution for static and damped harmonic response of simply supported general laminates
The state-space method is adapted to obtain three dimensional exact solutions for the static and damped dynamic behaviors of simply supported general laminates. The state-space method is written in a general form that permits to handle both cross-ply and
