Free Vibration Analysis of a Rectangular Duct with Different Axial Boundary Conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
3This paper describes the free vibration analysis of a rectangular duct by using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Static beam functions are used as admissible functions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Ductility of simply supported rubberized concrete beams

open access: yesChallenge Journal of Concrete Research Letters, 2021
Dispose of waste rubberized tires become a dangerous problem around the world, represented a big serious risk to the sur-rounded environment. Many studies show that over 1000 million tires reach their expired date yearly and this figure is anticipated to be 5000 million tires by reaching 2030.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Free Vibration of Simply Supported Beam on Elastic Foundations

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2017
Fourier series and finite element analysis are utilized to obtain the solution of simply supported beams resting on elastic foundations with different loadings in order to arrive at a free vibration.

A Study on the Power Generation Capacity of Piezoelectric Energy Harvesters with Different Fixation Modes and Adjustment Methods

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
The power generation capacity of piezoelectric energy harvesters (PEHs) is not only related to the properties of the piezoelectric material, the vibration magnitude and the subsequent conditioning circuit, but also to the fixation modes and adjustment ...

Influence of the Second Flexural Mode on the Response of High-Speed Bridges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper deals with the assessment of the contribution of the second flexural mode to the dynamic behaviour of simply supported railway bridges. Alluding to the works of other authors, it is suggested in some references that the dynamic behaviour of ...

Controllability of the 1D Schrodinger equation by the flatness approach

open access: yes, 2014
We derive in a straightforward way the exact controllability of the 1-D Schrodinger equation with a Dirichlet boundary control. We use the so-called flatness approach, which consists in parameterizing the solution and the control by the derivatives of a "
